COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Here is a list of command line variables. (Not case sensitive)
/V = SHOW VERSION OF GRUNT!. This command will show the current version
of GRUNT! without running the program.
Example: GRUNT.EXE /V
/C = DOOR CONVERSION NUMBER. This is the conversion # so that Patchy
(the internal GRUNT! BBS convertor) can run it.
CURRENTLY ONLY THE FOLLOWING DROP FILES ARE SUPPORTED:
/C=1 : ...not used... - ...not used...
/C=2 : WORLD WAR IV - "CHAIN.TXT"
/C=3 : SPIT FIRE - "SFDOORS.DAT"
/C=4 : GENERAL - "DOOR.SYS"
/C=5 : LOCAL - ANY TEXTFILE
Example: GRUNT.EXE /C=1
If you do not run one of the above listed BBS software packages,
then you will need a conversion utility. There are many fine
conversion utilities available, you should be able to locate
something for your system.
Playing LOCAL mode: Any file may be used. The first line of the
text file contains your real name. Execute GRUNT w/this
statement:
GRUNT /C=5 /P=LOCAL.SYS (or any text file)
NOTE: Please refer to the documentation on playing in LOCAL
MODE.
/P = LOCATION AND NAME OF DROP FILE. This is the name of the drop
file from your bulletin board. It is very important that the /P
parameter is used, otherwise GRUNT! will fail to run.
Example: GRUNT.EXE /C=1 /P=C:\PCB\NODE1\PCBOARD.SYS
GRUNT.EXE /C=2 /P=C:\WWIV\CHAIN.TXT
GRUNT.EXE /C=3 /P=C:\SPITFIRE\SFDOORS.DAT
GRUNT.EXE /C=4 /P=C:\BBS\DOOR.SYS
GRUNT.EXE /C=5 /P=LOCAL.TXT
/G = GRAPHICS MODE. You can overwrite the BBS settings on graphics
modes by using this toggle. This toggle forces GRUNT! to work in
ASCII mode only. No colors will be present nor displayed. This
toggle can be changed by the User under "Player Commands".
